End of the Weekend

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas! We spent most of ours dancing to the new Michael Jackson Wii game. Now that its over I can finally show one of the things I got for Bubba. Knowing his love for Star Wars, while I was at the store I found Star Wars action figures. I bought two Darth Vaders and two Stormtroopers and attached them to cufflinks using hot glue. I think they turned out pretty well and will go great with his new suit.

Whoa My Darling calling cards came in the mail and they turned out great! I cannot wait to buy more from the designer on her etsy.

The Whoa My Darling shop will be up and running soon. While you wait visit Bubble Gum Bows. She has the cutest hair accessories for girls!

DIY::This week

I finally finished the skirt I was making! With quite a bit of help. Now I can't wait to dive into another sewing project.

I was at a craft store last week and found Styrofoam balls in the floral department. I got a few five inch ones and glued red and white carnations to them. I didn't realize how many it would take to cover! And apparently red carnations are very popular around the holidays. Luckily I found some at a grocery store. They came out great but I doubt they will last long.

Mail Orders::

Hello all. I have several new discoveries! Last night I ordered calling cards I found on Etsy. It is from Michelle Brusegaard and her products are wonderful. Here is a sneak peek of the order.
I have been obsessed with ribbon lately. Tonight I found a website with a ton of ribbon and I couldn't help but order some. It's called Really Reasonable Ribbon and they had a ton of different kinds of ribbon. I especially fell in love with all the baker's twine they had.

I can't wait until these orders come in the mail!

Also, Whoa My darling now has a website that will be up and running soon, including a WMD store.

Holiday Cheer

I'm sad to see this weekend gone. I feel like I got so many new projects started and finished. I wanted to start dabbling in felting, but I haven't been able to find the right yarn for it (I must admit I haven't tried too hard). I found this picture on A Childs Dream Come True. These are the colors I would love to find instead of all the shades of brown out there.

Each year when Christmas comes I always tell myself I am going to hand make all the gifts I give that year. This year I am proud to say I have actually been successful at making most of them! There is so much I say I want to do and unfortunately don't get around to doing it. But today, after much anticipation, I FINALLY began learning to sew! The goal: make a skirt by Saturday to debut at a Christmas party. The bad thing about learning to sew, I never wanted my own sewing machine...now I sure do.

Bittersweet Ending

There as been so much going on lately I don't know where to begin. This semester of school has come and gone so quickly. I decided to make all the kids in the third grade class I was in goody bags. It's amazing the effect these can have on kids!

Each year for Thanksgiving I try to think of something new to use as the centerpiece on the table. This year I came across this wonderful idea in a Martha Stewart magazine. It was a simple find. I used real apples, limes, lemons, cranberries, and pears, brushed egg white onto them, and covered them in sugar. They took a few hours to dry, but they lasted for a good week after the holiday.
